What is Yoga Therapy?
A personal yoga session with a qualified Yoga Therapist, to develop a personalised yoga practice just for you. This Yoga practice may have a therapeutic focus of strengthening and healing an injured or painful area of the body, providing flexibility where there is stiffness, healing mental illness, stress, anxiety, insomnia or aiding healing of other illnesses such as cancer, asthma and or any other condition affecting the body or mind. Or it may be to deepen your existing yoga practice with something more personalised to you. Perhaps you’ve tried a regular yoga class and found it is not suitable for you. There are many reasons why someone might come for a yoga therapy session.
What happens in a session?
In an initial session we discuss your history, overall health and well being and look at your goals- what you are wanting from your practice. I then design as asana (yoga postures) practice specifically based on you- what you are wanting from a practice, any injuries, level of fitness and yoga experience (where applicable- no experience is necessary). I guide you through your practice and give you a printable version to take home and practice, along with any other holistic practices recommended for you, as part of your overall programme.
In an initial session I give just a few postures and this can be developed further in a follow up session. I recommend beginning with three sessions, but depending on what you are attending for, it may be possible in less.
I have a focus on practices that gently strengthen, incorporating mindfulness and one’s own intuition into the healing process.   Each of us has the power to facilitate our own healing, given the right tools and space.  Yoga therapy and developing a personal wellness practice is a profound and self empowering aid to this.

Initial assessment – 60 min: $95
Ongoing sessions – 60 min: $85

Extended session – 90 min $120
